Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: June 1, 2025Our Commitment
The Legacy Group at Keller Williams Preferred is committed to ensuring that our website, findlegacies.com, is accessible to everyone — including individuals with disabilities. We believe that every person has the right to access information and services related to homeownership and real estate without barriers.
We continually work to improve the user experience for all visitors and apply relevant accessibility standards in the design and development of our website. If you encounter any barriers or have difficulty accessing any part of our Site, please contact us — we want to help.
Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:
- Visual disabilities (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
- Hearing disabilities (deafness, hard of hearing)
- Motor and physical disabilities (limited fine motor control)
- Cognitive and neurological disabilities (dyslexia, attention disorders)
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is organized around four core principles — content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR):
- Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive (e.g., text alternatives for non-text content, captions for media).
- Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable (e.g., keyboard accessible, sufficient time to read content).
- Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable (e.g., readable text, predictable navigation).
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
Measures We Take
To support accessibility, The Legacy Group takes the following measures:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML5 semantic elements to ensure content is structured in a logical, meaningful hierarchy.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — including navigation menus, forms, and buttons — are accessible via keyboard.
- Color Contrast: We design with sufficient color contrast ratios to support users with low vision or color blindness.
- Text Alternatives: Images include descriptive alt text, and decorative images are marked appropriately.
- Responsive Design: Our Site is designed to work across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
- Accessible Forms: Form fields are labeled appropriately and include clear instructions and error messaging.
- Assistive Technology Compatibility: We test our Site with common screen readers and accessibility tools to identify and correct issues.
Known Issues & Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on our Site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Known areas under active review include:
- Third-Party Embedded Content: Some third-party tools integrated into our Site (such as interactive maps and chat widgets) may not fully conform to accessibility guidelines. We are actively working with our vendors to improve these experiences.
- Legacy PDF Documents: Older PDF files may not be fully accessible. If you need the content of a document in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide an accessible alternative.
- Video Content: Some older video content may lack closed captions or audio descriptions. New video content is produced with accessibility in mind.
We are committed to addressing these issues as quickly as possible and regularly audit our Site for accessibility concerns.
Assistive Technology
Our Site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- High-contrast display modes
For the best experience, we recommend using an up-to-date browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) together with your preferred assistive technology.
ADA Compliance Statement
The Legacy Group at Keller Williams Preferred is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all applicable federal, state, and local accessibility laws and regulations. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website in an effort to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
We view accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time project. Our team regularly reviews our digital presence and incorporates accessibility improvements into our development process.
